Authors: Project READ Literacy Network

Collection: Learning Materials

This slide presentation was prepared by Project READ Literacy Network, a regional literacy support organization in Ontario.

The authors begin with a discussion of the philosophical basis of adult education; a definition of literacy; an explanation of literacy levels; and an introduction to Essential Skills. From there, they go on to explain Ontario’s Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) program and provide specific details about the Waterloo-Wellington region.

The authors also discuss professional development opportunities for LBS practitioners and provide a list of available support resources.
