Skype is a communication tool that allows users to make audio and video calls over the Internet. The author of this document describes Skype as an excellent tool for teaching languages, as it incorporates high levels of verbal interaction between users or, in this case, between teachers and students.

The document begins with an introduction to Skype and an explanation of its technical requirements. Other sections explain how to set up a Skype account, add contacts, and make a call; offer suggestions on using Skype for personal, organizational, and marketing purposes; and describe such advanced features as conference calls, file sharing, and screen sharing.

The author has also included an extensive list of resources for further information on using Skype effectively.
