Protecting Ourselves is an educational tool for facilitators to assist persons with disabilities in making the necessary changes in perception, attitude and practices that will ultimately empower them to act in a safe and informed manner when dealing with perpetrators of crime and violence. It serves to encourage discussion and increase the participants' awareness of preventative strategies that can be employed in the home and the community to safeguard against crime.
