IALSS 2003 : Literacy and Labour Force and HRSDC Implications of Findings - Part II

A PowerPoint presentation

Series: IALSS 2003 Findings

Authors: Satya Brink, Ph.D.

Collection: Research Materials

This is the second PowerPoint presentation based on the results of the 2003 International Adult Literacy and Skill Survey (IALSS). In it, the author compares those findings with the results of the 1994 International Adult Literacy Survey (IALS).

Specifically, the author looks at the level of literacy proficiency in Canada across provinces and territories; how literacy performance is distributed in the labour force, occupations, industries, and earning groups; whether health is related to literacy proficiency; and how civic engagement is affected by literacy skills.

The information is presented in graphs and charts, with accompanying notes that provide further explanation and analysis.
