Family literacy work occurs in many places across the greater Victoria area in British Columbia. The Victoria Read Society has compiled a list of the family literacy programs offered in communities in the area using information collected in 2005-06. This directory includes programs and resources that combine opportunities for parents/guardians and children to learn together as well as opportunities for adults to support their child's early literacy development. Organizations offering direct programs and services are included in the Programs section and listed in alphabetical order. Groups that provide program funding support or deliver a variety of literacy programs for children, youth and adults are listed in the Additional Resources section.
