Series: Annotated Bibliography of Aboriginal Books

Authors: NWT Literacy Council

Collection: Research Materials

The NWT Literacy Council published its first bibliography of Aboriginal books in 2006. Since that time many new works have been created by aboriginal authors, illustrators and translators. This second bibliography contains new works as well as other works not included in the first listing. While this bibliography primarily lists books by Canadian authors and illustrators, books written by people outside of Canada that are interesting and relevant to Canadians have also been included.

To make it easier to find the kinds of books you are looking for, the entries have been divided into three age categories: children, young adult and adult. The authors have used a symbol system to indicate whether a northern Aboriginal author, illustrator or translator has been involved with the book or a person with another background.
