Organizational Needs Assessment (2008)

Organizational Needs Assessment

Series: Assessment Tools - HRSDC

Authors: Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC)

Collection: Learning Materials

This document offers organizations a framework for determining whether gaps in essential skills are affecting performance and identifying the skills that require upgrading.

For each essential skill, the authors have included a series of statements concerning employees’ current abilities; impact on business performance; and level of impact. Employers can check off any statements that apply to their organizations, then plot the results on a colour-coded table to pinpoint areas of concern.

Employers can choose to assess an organization for all nine essential skills or focus on some specific ones.
