This is one in a series of case studies examining Essential Skills development in the workplace.
In this instance, the workplace was a major forest products company looking for a standardized way to measure the ability to do a job. At the suggestion of a local community college, the company’s managers decided that instead of measuring aptitude, they should measure Essential Skills and opted to do so using the Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES).
