Essential Skills for Word Processing

Microsoft Word 2007

Series: Adult Literacy and Employment Preparation Program

Authors: TR Leger Adult Literacy and Employment Preparation Program

Collection: Learning Materials

This manual, revised in 2011, is designed for use in an adult literacy and employment preparation program to help learners develop the skills needed to understand and use Microsoft Word 2007. While the manual is intended to be an independent, self-guided handbook, it can also be used in a group setting.

The manual begins with instructions for creating a basic document; changing fonts; highlighting to select words; and cutting and pasting. The learner progresses to using spelling and grammar checks; inserting pictures; using borders and shading; and organizing information into tables.

A number of demonstration activities are included in the manual. As well, there are self-evaluation forms the learner can complete before and after taking the course.
