This is a self-study evaluation kit developed to help programs examine their practice, reflect upon it and try to see how things could be done differently in the hope that this reflection would lead to action and improved programs.
The evaluation is a participatory process that: encourages objective evaluation of the program; encourages upgrading of program conditions; suggests areas for growth; enables coordinators to focus on needs of tutors and learners; provides opportunities to plan ahead; promotes group spirit and discussion; provides a tool for in-service development; and provides a basis for program funding proposals.

This book focuses on Louisa, an immigrant from Jamaica working as a domestic in the home of the Montreal family who sponsored her. The reader follows Louisa as she becomes a landed immigrant and decides to improve her education so she can find a better job.
The book marks the reappearance of Flo, the central character in an earlier book entitled Go with the Flo. When Love is in the Hair begins, Flo is working as a supervisor in a housecleaning company.
The book is divided into 14 chapters, each of which forms an independent part of the overall story, which would allow students to read as many or as few chapters in a sitting as they would like.
The vocabulary is straightforward and the sentence structure is simple. Each chapter begins with a list of the new words it will contain. A complete list of the new words is included at the end of the book.
The book was written for students using the Laubach Literacy Skillbook Three or higher.
