Literacy and numeracy skills in Nova Scotia: The Dartmouth Learning Network [Video – 2:00]

Authors: Dartmouth Learning Network

This short promotional video was prepared by the Dartmouth Learning Network (DLN) in Nova Scotia, a community organization that provides academic classes and one-on-one tutoring for adults.

The video’s narrator points out that almost 50 percent of adults in Nova Scotia do not have the literacy and numeracy skills required to function effectively in today’s society. They might not be able to read signs, interpret the instructions for taking medication, or help their children with schoolwork.

The video includes information on how to make a financial contribution to support the DLN’s work.
