This booklet is part of the Newcomers Finances series produced by Ottawa Community Loan Fund (OCLF). It begins by outlining some of the areas in which government support programs are available.

The authors describe specific government programs like immigration loans; GST/HST credit; housing programs; and working income tax benefit. They also include sections on programs for children; youth; students; seniors; and people with disabilities.

The booklet also contains some real-life examples to help explain who is eligible for government support programs.
