Essential Skills for Personal Success (2010)

Essential Skills for Personal Success

Module 1: Manage my basic needs

Series: Essential Skills for Personal Success Curriculum

Authors: Karen Farrar, Sheila Marshall

This is the workbook for the first module of the “Essential Skills for Personal Success!” curriculum. It focuses on managing basic needs, like eating well, finding a place to live, and dressing well.

To illustrate the material being taught, the authors introduce four students from CAST – Community Adult Skills and Training – who are improving their essential skills. The four students – two men and two women – range in age from 18 to 46.

The authors include a variety of learning activities and provide checklists so learners can evaluate their essential skills at the beginning and end of each chapter.
