Essential Skills for Internet Use (N.D.)

Series: Adult Literacy and Employment Preparation Program

Authors: TR Leger Adult Literacy and Employment Preparation Program

This manual, prepared for an adult literacy and employment preparation program, is designed to help learners develop the skills they need to use the Internet effectively. While it is intended to be an independent, self-guided handbook, it can also be used in a classroom setting.

The authors begin with a brief explanation of what the Internet is and ways in which it can be useful. They cover such topics as using a search engine; creating an email account; bookmarking favourite sites; avoiding viruses; and using social networking sites like Facebook.

The manual includes a number of practice activities. As well, there are self-evaluation forms the learner can complete before and after taking the cours
